No matter what, it can be agreed that it is a serious mental illness which results in changing of the physical. So lets all stop saying we know its for attention or that its not. The point is people are hurting themselves to look beautiful. What we need to do is make the people we come into contact with everyday feel beautiful, to avoid things like this happening. Sure it wont fix it all the way, but who knows the difference one person can make?

wannabeair007,some anorexics may do it for attention or help. Maybe not you, but think.. maybe someone doesn't know how to voice their opinion or are neglected. Maybe they are in so much hurt, that they need help but don't know how to get it.To some, it is a way to get attention, although it's not a very good one.And if it gets the best of them, anorexia, then maybe they do become the slave.
