It's not really cruel, I've seen worse on a day to day basis.(If you think about it we drag them around on a lease all day so putting a wig on them and blowing them with a fan would only seem fun in comparison)I don't think dogs look in the mirror and think "oh my god what am I wearing, I look hideous, that scarf is absolutely frightful and clashes with my belt"

of course it's not cruel. stop anthropomorphising animals. they fell pain, sure, but embarassment? that's a human thing. now, cats, on the other hand...have you ever seen a cat fall off something, and then get all ruffled about it? that, i think, night be embarassment.
